Nike Air Jordan craze?
Ever wondered how a brand can fool the masses like that? What's the god-given added value that makes a teenage kid or a young middle-class adult work for weeks to earn the money to be able to own an Air Jordan?
The story of Nike Air Jordan, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, is now in cinemas. The film takes us back to 1984. It's the America of the 80s, with VHS tapes, retro fashion and weird hair styles. Matt Demon, in the role of the main character 'Sonny Vacarro', is also brilliant as the chubby salesman whose biggest task is to 'lift' Nike brand, which at the time had only a 17% market share, against its competitors.
At the time, Converse had a share of over 50%, while Adidas had around 37%, and Nike was at the very bottom.
And this is where the time travel brings us Sonny Vacarro, whose personality in the movie was so inspiring that I had to check out his Chinese astrology birth chart to see what the big truth is.
